With the Easter holiday just passing I noticed a ton of table settings on social media. Southern Living posted countless tablescape how to's and even Joanna Gaines' Easter setting had everyone swooning. However I am one of those people where 95% of the time my dining table sits empty. This is for many reasons:

1. We eat all our meals in our breakfast nook right off the kitchen.

2. Most of the time our table is covered with tile samples, paint decks- all that makes my business go round (this makes up the 5% when the table isn't empty).

3. It's just me and my husband.

But just because you don't use your dining room doesn't mean you can't decorate and style it.

It honestly makes it a little easier when you don't use it often, because you can style it and leave it. No setting and unsetting the table each and every night for diner. And if you do use your dining room table each night it's still manageable to have a styled and decorated tablescape.

So I finally decided to style my dining room table! I went with a neutral and fresh design palette. I used some of the same materials seen throughout my house and decor that could last throughout the year and wouldn't have to be changed for each holiday. Because I know I do not have time to change it out each holiday. But if I wanted to add little holiday touches I could easily do so.

How I styled my dining room table:

Materials:

12" Natural Burlap Ribbon
Faux Greenery
Old Books
White Dinner Plate
White Salad Plate
White Linen
Jute Twin
Statement Center Piece

Directions:

1. Cut the Natural Burlap ribbon into placemats for your base underlay.

2. Open an old book to the middle and lay flat on the placemat.

3. Place your white dinner plate on top of the opened old book.

4. Place your salad plate on top of the dinner plate.

5. Cut your white linen into 20"x20" squares.

6. Hold the fabric in the center and gather around the middle and tie with a piece of jute twine.

7. Add a small sprig of greenery just under the jute twin on the napkin.

8. Place some greenery beside the place setting.

Do these steps for each place setting at your table.

Then add something that is a statement to the center of your table. I used an oversized dough bowl filled with faux hydrangeas.

Some other ideas for center pieces:

Stacked old books and bottles filled with flowers/greenery
Candle sticks and greenery
Old long tool box filled with greenery
Long chicken feeder filled with greenery

You can have a beautiful table setting on any budget. Shop your home for items before you go shopping for materials. The only materials I bought for this project was the burlap and greenery. The rest of the items I had around the house.

Antiques stores and thrift stores are a great place to find old books and white china for great prices. Hobby Lobby is a great place to buy burlap ribbon and faux greenery.

Your don't have to spend a lot to have a beautiful, inspiring, and loving home!
