Hello there friends! It's been a little while since I've shared whats going on around here. If you read my last Friday Farmhouse Finds post you were probably wondering when I was going to share that really fun project I was working on- and I totally left you hanging for longer than anticipated. But I can finally share with you guys that WE BOUGHT A CAMPER!
You are probably sitting there thinking why in the world did Kayla buy a camper. So before you think I'm completely crazy I will tell you why. Austin and I love to be outdoors and if you've followed me on Instagram for a while now you have probably caught glimpses of our adventures in my stories. So this will become our home away from home during some of those adventures. And we can bring the pups along to. But right now it definitely doesn't feel much like home...
I don't know who they have designing the interiors of campers but they seriously need to send them to design school. Even brand new campers are years behind in the design world. So our 2003 model needs A LOT of updates and TLC. I've seen some really cute tiny homes but the camper world is definitely lacking!
What sold us on this particular camper verses the other thousands we looked at (that number is not exaggerated at all) was the layout and the price. And the reason I kept you hanging is because it took us FOREVER to find one and we finally bought this one on Monday. We wanted to keep the price point low so we could budget for renovations. I love how open and roomy it feels and I saw lots of potential. We weren't very particular on interior finishes, furniture, etc. when looking because we knew we were going to be changing all that. We mainly focused on the overall layout, how well it had been maintained, no water leaks, no structural damage, and everything was in working order. So we could over look the floral wallpaper boarders, the floral sofas, gold hardware, blue/green carpet, and the visual heavy hideous drapes. I CAN NOT wait to rip all that out. A big ole DEMO DAY is coming soon! (I may have actually started the demo yesterday and will share that update soon.)
I can't wait to take you along on this journey of redoing the camper. I hope to make this our little modern farmhouse getaway on wheels. Next up I will be sharing my design plan for the camper and some of the demo.

No there is nothing actually wrong with the camper and many wonder why we are doing anything to it. BUT it's just not our style. I would never truly feel at home. The whole point of having this camper is to have a little escape. So RIP green/blue florals, gold hardware, and upholstered cornice boxes.
