Well hello there friend! It has been a while since I last shared what's going on in my life and home. But when a group of sweet ladies asked me to join their fall tour of homes, I knew I had to jump right on board, and break out some pumpkins for y'all. Can you believe this is my very first fall home tour?! Ever. AND be sure you make it to the end, because each one of these ladies home tours are linked at the end of this post, so you can keep right on touring.
You may or may not know, but I just did a budget friendly kitchen remodel {Blog series coming soon. Promise!}. So before I could bring on the pumpkins and all things fall I had to clean up my renovation disaster of a house. Seriously two days ago you couldn't walk through my dining room.
But today I'm letting you inside my somewhat clean fall home {there may or may not be objects shoved and hidden in every nook and cranny and a little dirt on the floors}. And even though the electrical outlet covers are not back on in the kitchen, that didn't stop me from throwing a little bit of fall in there as well. So without further ado... grab you a pumpkin spice latte, a cozy blanket, and cuddle up somewhere comfy, because COME ON IN to my little tour of fall in my home.
WELCOME!
On this little tour of mine I contained all the pumpkins to my main level living. I'll sneak some in our bedroom soon and be sure to share that with you too. So first room up on this virtual tour is my LIVING ROOM. Our entryway is so small- put a few pumpkins in it and you can't get through the door.
So I simply placed some on the stairs. That way as soon as you walk through my front door you're greeted by my crazy pumpkin obsession. Turn left, now you're in my living room... and more pumpkins!
For my coffee table I layered and stacked pumpkins inside an old beehive box. I scored two of these chippy lovelies off of a vendor friend at one of my shows.
They still smell of sweet honey. Every time I smell them they remind me of my grandfather, who builds beehives and raises honey bees. For a moment I'm taken back to a brick house on the street I grew up on, standing in my grandparents kitchen, helping my grandpa mash honey from the comb.
It's truly a sweet sweet smell!
I kept to my normal colors and decor design in my living room. I pretty much do this when decorating for any season/holiday. That way you don't have to wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. You can build around the things you already have and love.
So I basically just thru in a whole lotta pumpkins. A little cinnamon sprinkled on top in here and your sitting in a pumpkin spice latte.
Next up on this tour you're going to turn right and straight into my little BREAKFAST NOOK.
This is my favorite spot ever to decorate and photograph. It's so small a little bit of decor goes a long way. And this is my sweet spot for taking pictures because the lighting is always perfect {well during the day that is}.
Before anyone asks, those are battery powered candles. I'm not trying to burn down my house! That almost happened last week when I put a candle too close to the paper towels in the kitchen. I promise I'm an adult y'all...
In this little nook I kept all the fall decor piled on the table. Under that pile of pumpkins I have a large bread board and my round wooden sifter that normally sits there. The sifter made a great vessel to hold all these pumpkins!
The tour continues right on into the KITCHEN. Y'all are getting the very first peek inside my newly redone kitchen. Trim still needs to be painted, outlet covers added back, and grout washed off the window seal.
But by golly I put some pumpkins in there!
I even baked a cake for y'all! I seriously wish you were here so you could have a piece. It's a pumpkin pudding cake, with a salted caramel candied pecan and cranberry drizzle. Say that three times fast. To bad you can't scratch and sniff.
I cut a piece for these pictures and devoured it before I could grab my camera. So this is the second piece... I may have ate it too.
Now you're going to turn right again and that brings you to the last room of my fall home tour- my DINING ROOM.
We never ever use this room so most of the time it's cluttered with my junk. But just maybe this year I'll host a dinner party since I have it all decorated. My favorite touches in this room are the wood cutout saying, made by my friend Brooke of Stuart at Home Decor {Visit her shop-- HERE}, and the metal leaves from my designer/show friends Perspective Design {Order some for your fall decor-- HERE}.
For my centerpiece I layered pumpkins, greenery sprigs, spanish moss, metal leaves, and wooden candle sticks. Arranging the largest pumpkin in the middle and working my way outwards.
The place settings I kept simple, since there was a whole lot going on down the center of the table. I used jute edged linen placemats, a white diner plate, a ruffle linen napkin, and topped it off with a Target Dollar Spot pumpkin appetizer plate.
I knew I wanted to do something fun on my faux fireplace in here. So I added the metal leaves and the wood cutout saying, "Fall in Love" get it... falling leaves. Corny... maybe... but I love it and FALL!
Turn right again and you're back where we started, and you've completed my fall 2017 home tour. I have loved having you in my home. I just wish it was for real and we could kick back with some cake and coffee.
