I know the first day of fall isn't until September 22, but I just couldn't pass up these darling pumpkins while I was in Michaels the other day waiting on Austin to get his hair cut at the salon across the road. While I was digging through the bins of colorful pumpkins, I scattered a few out on the floor along with some greenery, and came up with my fall color scheme- yes right there on the floor in Michaels!
I am going very neutral with my fall decor this year. I know you're surprised right!? When decorating for seasons and holidays try staying within the color palette of your home, not only does in look better, it's cheaper. I can easily use greenery, vases, and decor I already have and just fill in with little things. Of course you can add pops of color- like I plan on doing with shades of blue.
So here are my fall decor plans all in a nice style board:
I threw together a centerpiece with some of my inspiration in a dough bowl and loved how it all came together. So I thought I would give you a little DIY styling session.
Materials:
- Dough bowl or any large container that will work for your centerpiece- basket, galvanized bucket, really anything will do.
- Pumpkins
- Deer antlers
- Greenery
- Filler- I used crinkle paper for mine
How to:
1. Start with adding you filler to the bottom of your container to give height to your contents.
2. Add your pumpkins. Don't be too picky about placement, you can arrange and move them as you add more contents.
3. Add deer antlers. Tuck the ends ender the pumpkins and down into the crinkle paper filler.
4. Add your biggest leaf greenery- I used faux lambs ear.
5. Fill in with a smaller greenery option. Add to spots that seem bare and fill in any gaps.
Don't worry if you don't have a certain item listed above -add your favorite neutral decor items. I would love to add a wooden bead strand to this centerpiece. I think it would complete the look nicely. Main thing is have fun and create something you think is beautiful!
While browsing Pinterest I found these amazing neutral fall decor inspirations and thought I would add them for more inspiration. Follow my Pinterest Fall Decor Design board for even more inspiration- {HERE}
Now I just have to get busy and actual decorate! I hate to see summer go but I'm ready for fall and all things pumpkin!
With love,
